Health Tips: Personal Hygiene Protocols & Illness Prevention

These guidelines are fundamental for maintaining personal hygiene and preventing the spread of illnesses. These measures are not only crucial for individual health but also play a significant role in public health by reducing the transmission of pathogens. Here’s a closer look at each protocol:

  1. Hand Hygiene: Frequent and proper handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is essential. Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  2. Respiratory Etiquette: Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of tissues properly and sanitize your hands immediately.
  3. Avoid Touching Face: Try to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands, as these are common entry points for viruses.
  4. Disinfect Surfaces: Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces to reduce the risk of infection.
  5. Disinfectant Fogging: Employ disinfectant fogging in spaces where feasible to eliminate airborne pathogens and thoroughly disinfect hard-to-reach surfaces.

Remember, the effectiveness of disinfectant fogging depends on the type of disinfectant used, and the specific pathogens targeted. It’s crucial to select a disinfectant approved for fogging by relevant health authorities and compatible with the surfaces and equipment in the treated area.  We recommend Vital Oxide because of the wide range of effectiveness it offers without requiring PPE.
